Group Size
Any size (best with 6+ players).
Supplies Needed
None (just a play space with objects, clothes, or equipment in different colours).
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Gather Players
All players start in the centre of the play area.
Step 2 – Call Out a Colour
The leader calls: “You have 5 seconds to touch… RED!”
Step 3 – Race to Find It
Players have 5 seconds to run and touch something of that colour.
It could be clothing, shoes, playground gear, cones, or natural items (like grass for green).
Count down aloud: “5… 4… 3… 2… 1!”
Step 4 – Elimination or Points
Players who didn’t touch the colour in time are either:
Out (elimination style), OR
Lose a point/heart if you want to keep everyone in the game.
Step 5 – Continue
Keep calling new colours, speeding up the pace or using trickier colours.
Last player remaining (or player with most points at the end) is the winner!
Variations
Double Challenge: Call 2 colours at once (e.g. “5 seconds to touch BLUE and GREEN!”).
Safe Zone Return: After touching the colour, players must race back to the centre.
Wildcard: Occasionally call “RAINBOW” = touch as many colours as possible in 5 seconds!
