Supplies:
A4 white paper or light card
Watercolour or acrylic paints (reds, oranges, yellows)
Paintbrushes or sponges
A cup of water & paper towels
Pre-printed / Cut animal and tree silhouettes
Scissors
Glue sticks
Black paint for drawing ground or adding extra silhouettes
🎨 Steps:
1. Paint the Sunset Background
Start with yellow at the bottom of the page and blend upward into orange and then red at the top.
Use a brush or sponge to blend the colours smoothly.
Let the paint dry completely before moving on.
2. Create the Ground Area
Once the sunset is dry, paint a strip of black (or dark brown) across the bottom for the ground.
Alternatively, you can draw a hilly silhouette with a black marker or paintbrush.
3. Cut and Prepare Silhouettes
Cut out pre-printed animal and tree silhouettes (elephants, giraffes, lions, acacia trees, etc.)
Older kids can do this themselves; younger ones may need pre-cut shapes.
4. Glue the Silhouettes On
Arrange the animals and trees on top of the black ground area so they stand out against the sunset sky.
Glue them down securely.
