Supplies:
Cones or markers to define the play area
Coloured bibs or wristbands (two colours: one for Aliens, one for Astronauts)
Optional: soft foam balls or small beanbags (as 'energy orbs')
Steps:
Set Up: Mark out a large play area. Divide it into two equal halves – one side for the Aliens’ planet and one for the Astronauts’ base.
Divide the Group: Split players into two even teams – Aliens and Astronauts. Give each team a matching colour bib or band.
Objective: Each team aims to tag members of the opposite team and turn them into one of their own.
How to Play:
When tagged by an opponent, the player must freeze and count to five.
If another teammate tags them before the count is up, they are safe and can keep playing.
If they are not rescued in time, they switch sides and join the other team.
Add a Twist (Optional):
Place a few 'energy orbs' (beanbags) around the field. Anyone carrying an orb cannot be tagged.
Players must drop the orb after 10 seconds or when tagged.
Winning the Game: The game ends when one team has turned everyone else to their side or after a set time limit (e.g. 10 minutes). The team with the most players wins!
Other Information:
Great for large groups.
Encourages teamwork, running, and strategy.
Works well indoors (in a hall) or outdoors (on the field).
