Supplies:
Just a big open space (hall, gym, field, or classroom with desks pushed aside).
A group of 5 or more players.
Steps:
Choose a Captain
One player is the “Captain.” They stand at the front facing the crew (the other players).
Crew Line Up
Everyone else lines up facing the Captain, ready to follow orders.
Learn the Commands
The Captain shouts different commands. Players must act them out quickly.
If a player gets it wrong or is the last one to do it, they’re out (or do a fun forfeit like 5 star jumps).
Common Commands & Actions:
“Captain’s Coming!” → Everyone stands straight, salutes, and shouts “Aye Aye, Captain!” (No one moves until another command is given).
“Scrub the Deck!” → Get down and pretend to scrub the floor.
“Climb the Rigging!” → Pretend to climb an invisible rope.
“Man Overboard!” → Pair up, one kneels (the boat), the other puts a hand above their eyes, looking out to sea.
“Row the Boat!” → Sit in pairs and mime rowing together.
“Shark Attack!” → Everyone runs to a safe zone/wall until the Captain yells “All clear!”
“Hit the Deck!” → Drop flat on the ground.
“Three Men in a Boat!” → Groups of three sit in a line and row.
“Mess Deck!” → Pretend to eat hungrily.
Winning the Game:
Play until only one player is left. They become the new Captain.
Or keep swapping Captains each round so everyone gets a turn!
