Supplies:
1 gold crown (can be paper, plastic, or fabric) per team
Cones, chalk, or markers for each team’s “base”
Open space for running (hall, gym, or field)
Steps:
Split the group into two teams.
Mark a “base” for each team at opposite ends of the playing area. Place the crown in the centre of each base.
The goal: capture the other team’s crown and bring it back to your own base without being tagged.
If a player is tagged while in the other team’s half, they must freeze in place.
A teammate can “rescue” a frozen player by tagging them, after which they both return to their side before trying again.
A round ends when one team successfully brings the other team’s crown back to their base.
Swap crowns back and start the next round.
Other Information:
Adjust boundaries for smaller spaces.
For younger children, remove tagging and make it a speed race instead.
Encourage teamwork by having players protect their crown and plan who will attack.
