Supplies:
2–4 soft red-and-white balls (can decorate balls or use soft plush Pokéballs
Open play space (hall, field, or court)
Optional: cones to mark boundaries
Setup:
Select 2–4 Trainers and give them each a soft Pokéball to throw.
All other children are Wild Pokémon and spread out inside the play area.
Define the game area with clear boundaries—no one can step out or they’re out!
How to Play:
Trainers throw the Pokéballs and try to tag Wild Pokémon below the shoulders.
Wild Pokémon must dodge, duck, jump, and weave to avoid being hit.
If a Wild Pokémon is hit, they are “caught” and must sit on the side or freeze in place.
Play until all Wild Pokémon are caught or set a time limit and then rotate Trainers.
Variations:
Rescue Rule: Another Pokémon can “rescue” a caught one by tagging them back in.
Elemental Twist: Give some Pokémon “type cards” and Trainers can only catch certain types each round.
Pokémon Powers: Let Pokémon use a special movement once per round (e.g., teleport = take 3 big steps away from danger).
