Christmas Slime

Supplies

  • PVA glue

  • Baking soda

  • Contact lens solution (must contain boric acid)

  • Food colouring (red, green, or festive colours)

  • Glitter or festive confetti

  • Mixing bowls or cups

  • Spoons or craft sticks

  • Measuring spoons

  • Airtight containers or zip-lock bags (for taking home)

Steps

  1. Add GluePour approximately ½ cup of PVA glue into a bowl.

  2. Add Baking SodaAdd ½ teaspoon of baking soda to the glue and mix well until smooth.

  3. Colour the SlimeAdd a few drops of food colouring and stir until evenly mixed.

  4. Add GlitterStir in glitter or festive confetti (optional).

  5. Activate the SlimeSlowly add contact lens solution, 1 teaspoon at a time, mixing as you go.Continue until the slime starts to pull away from the bowl.

  6. KneadUse hands to knead the slime until it is no longer sticky and has a stretchy texture.

  7. StorePlace the finished slime into a container or bag with the child’s name.

Other Information

  • Children should wash hands before and after making slime.

  • Supervise closely and remind children not to put slime near mouths or faces.

  • If slime is too sticky, add a few more drops of contact lens solution.

  • If slime becomes too firm, add a small amount of glue to soften it.

  • Slime should be taken home the same day.
