Supplies
A soft soccer ball, foam ball, or large beach ball
Cones, chairs, or tape to mark goals
Open indoor or outdoor space (hall, court, or field)
Optional: Bibs or coloured bands to divide teams
Steps
Set up the goals at each end of the space using cones or markers.
Split players into two teams. Each team sits on the ground facing the other.
Get into crab position:
Sit on the floor, lift your bottom off the ground using your hands and feet, belly up.
Place the ball in the middle and blow the whistle or call "GO!" to start the game.
Players move like crabs, kicking the ball and trying to score into the opposing team's goal.
No hands allowed to touch the ball — only feet!
If the ball goes out, return it to the centre.
First team to score 3–5 goals (or most goals in a set time) wins!
Other Information
Great for coordination, teamwork, and core strength.
Modify for younger kids by allowing hands for balance or using a larger/lighter ball.
Encourage fun animal noises or team cheers like “Go Crabs!” for extra energy.
Can be played in short rounds (2–3 minutes) to avoid fatigue.
