Supplies:
Paper plates (1 per child)
Scissors
String or wool (various colours)
Beads (assorted)
Feathers (craft or natural)
Hole punch
Markers or coloured pens
Steps:
Cut out the centre of the paper plate, leaving a ring about 3–4 cm wide.
Use markers to decorate the ring with bright, symmetrical mandala patterns.
Punch holes evenly around the inner edge of the ring (about 8–10 holes).
Thread string or wool through the holes to create a web pattern, tying it off securely at each end.
Slide a few beads onto the string as you weave to add colour and texture.
Cut three short lengths of string to hang from the bottom of the plate. Attach a few beads and a feather to the end of each.
Tie or tape a loop of string at the top for hanging.
Other Information:
Encourage children to choose bright Diwali colours like gold, red, orange, and pink.
You can add a little glitter glue for extra sparkle.
This craft supports fine motor skills, creativity, and cultural expression through mandala art.
