Designer mugs

Supplies:

• Plain white porcelain mugs

• Porcelain markers (assorted colours)

• Scrap paper and pencils (for practice designs)

• Damp cloths/wipes (for mistakes before baking)

• Oven (to set designs if required by marker instructions)

Steps:

1. Plan Your Design

   • Think of the special person you’re making the mug for (Mum, Dad, Nana, Pop, or anyone special).

   • Sketch your idea on scrap paper first — it could be words, patterns, or drawings.

2. Draw on the Mug

   • Use the porcelain markers to carefully draw your design on the mug.

   • Be creative — write messages like “Best Mum Ever” or “#1 Dad,” add hearts, stars, flowers, or fun doodles.

3. Fix Mistakes

   • If you make a mistake, quickly wipe it away with a damp cloth before it dries.

4. Set the Design

   • Follow the instructions on the porcelain markers (usually leave to dry for 24 hours or bake in the oven to make it permanent).

5. Gift Your Mug

   • Once dry/set, wrap it up and give it as a special, handmade gift.
