Supplies
Balloons (3 per juggling ball, different colours work best)
Filler: rice, flour, or lentils (about ½ cup per ball)
Funnel or cut plastic bottle (for filling)
Small spoon or scoop
Scissors
Permanent markers or washi tape (optional, for decorating)
Steps
Prepare the balloon: Stretch one balloon by inflating it once, then let the air out.
Fill it up: Place the funnel into the neck of the balloon and carefully spoon in rice, flour, or lentils until the balloon is about the size of a tennis ball.
Tie it off: Tie a knot tightly in the neck of the balloon.
Layer it: Cut the neck off a second balloon. Stretch it over the filled balloon to cover the knot and seal it.
Final cover: Cut the neck off a third balloon and stretch it over the ball, covering any gaps. This gives strength and colour.
Decorate (optional): Use permanent markers or tape strips to create circus-style patterns (spots, stripes, stars).
Repeat: Make at least three balls if you’d like to try real juggling.
