DIY Samba Masks

Supplies

  • Pre-cut blank masks

  • Feathers

  • Sequins, rhinestones, or glitter

  • Coloured markers or vivid pens

  • Glue sticks or PVA glue

  • Paints and brushes (optional)

  • Elastic or ribbon (if not already attached to masks)

  • Table covers or trays for easy clean-up

Steps

  1. Set out a table with all decorating supplies in easy-to-reach containers or trays.

  2. Give each child a blank mask and explain they’re going to create a bright, bold Samba-style mask inspired by Brazilian carnival.

  3. Let them choose their own decorations and design — encourage colour, sparkle, and feathers!

  4. Assist with glue or adding elastic/ribbons if needed.

  5. Once finished, leave masks to dry and display or use them in a parade, dance party, or photo booth.
