Supplies
Pre-cut blank masks
Feathers
Sequins, rhinestones, or glitter
Coloured markers or vivid pens
Glue sticks or PVA glue
Paints and brushes (optional)
Elastic or ribbon (if not already attached to masks)
Table covers or trays for easy clean-up
Steps
Set out a table with all decorating supplies in easy-to-reach containers or trays.
Give each child a blank mask and explain they’re going to create a bright, bold Samba-style mask inspired by Brazilian carnival.
Let them choose their own decorations and design — encourage colour, sparkle, and feathers!
Assist with glue or adding elastic/ribbons if needed.
Once finished, leave masks to dry and display or use them in a parade, dance party, or photo booth.
Other Information
Great paired with music and dancing to create a fun carnival atmosphere.
Encourage kids to name their mask or explain what inspired their design.
