Supplies
Pre-made craft flowers with holes in the centre.
Green straws, cut into 2–3 cm pieces (to act as spacers).
String, wool, or elastic cord (about 60–70 cm per child).
Scissors.
Tape (to wrap string ends if needed for easier threading).
Steps
Prepare the String
Cut string to the right length (enough to go around the head + a little extra for tying).
Tie a large knot at one end or tape a bead to stop pieces slipping off.
Thread Flowers & Straws
Start by threading on a flower, then a straw piece, then another flower.
Repeat the pattern until the crown is nearly full.
Adjust Fit
Once long enough to fit around the child’s head, tie the two ends together securely.
Make sure it’s not too tight – should sit comfortably.
Wear with Pride
Place the finished flower crown on each child’s head.
Encourage them to show off their crown with a little Cook Islands dance or photo!
