Four Corners

supplies Needed:

  • Large indoor space with four distinct corners

  • Numbered cards or pieces of paper (from 1 to 4)

  • Optional: Music player and upbeat music

Instructions:

  1. Set up the playing area: Designate four corners of the room or playing area as "Corner 1," "Corner 2," "Corner 3," and "Corner 4." Ensure that each corner is easily distinguishable and well-lit.

  2. Assign numbers to the corners: Place numbered cards or pieces of paper in each corner, with one corner corresponding to each number (1, 2, 3, and 4).

  3. Select a guesser: Choose one person to be the guesser for the first round. This person will stand in the center of the playing area, away from the corners.

  4. Close your eyes: Instruct all players, except the guesser, to close their eyes and face away from the corners.

  5. Silent selection: While players have their eyes closed, everyone silently chooses a corner by moving to one of the four corners (Corner 1, Corner 2, Corner 3, or Corner 4).

  6. Start the game: Once everyone has chosen a corner, the guesser calls out a number between 1 and 4. For example, they might say, "Corner 3!"

  7. Players in the called corner are out: Players who are in the corner that was called must leave the game and sit down. They are out for the remainder of the round.

  8. Repeat with a new guesser: Choose a new guesser for the next round and repeat steps 4-7. Continue playing until there is only one player left, who becomes the winner of the game.

Tips:

  • Encourage players to be strategic in their corner choices, as they may try to deceive the guesser by picking different corners in each round.

  • To add more excitement, play upbeat music while players move to their chosen corners. Stop the music just before the guesser calls out the corner number.

Variations:

  • Multiple guessers: Instead of having just one guesser, you can have multiple guessers calling out different corner numbers simultaneously, increasing the challenge for the players.

  • Themed versions: Customize the game by incorporating themes, such as favorite colors or animals, and assign them to each corner.

Safety Tips:

  • Ensure that the playing area is clear of any obstacles or hazards to prevent accidents or injuries.

  • Remind players to be mindful of their surroundings and avoid bumping into others while moving to their corners.
