Fun relays (26 ideas)

Supplies Needed:

1. Open space

2. Cones or markers

3. Baton (optional)

4. Various props depending on the type of relay race (e.g., spoons and eggs for an egg and spoon race)

Instructions:

1. Set Up the Course: Determine the starting point and the finish line of your relay race. Set these points using cones or other markers. If the race involves multiple legs, set up additional markers for each changeover point.

2. Form Teams: Divide the participants into teams. Depending on the size of your group and the nature of your race, teams might consist of 2 to 4 participants each.

3. Explain the Rules: Make sure all participants understand the rules of the relay race, including where they need to run, how to pass any props or batons, and how to win.

4. Start the Race: Line up the first participant from each team at the starting line. Start the race with a signal, such as blowing a whistle or saying, "Go!"

5. Monitor the Race: Keep an eye on the participants to make sure they're following the rules and staying safe.

6. Declare the Winner: The first team to have all its members complete the course is the winner.
