Supplies:
Cones or markers to mark a start line and finish area
Whistle or signal (optional)
Steps:
Set Up:
Mark a clear start line on the field or court.
Make sure there’s plenty of space ahead for kids to run safely.
Explain the Story:
The children are astronauts who have just discovered their oxygen is running out!
They need to run as far as they can before they run out of air.
How to Play:
All players start at the start line.
When you shout “Out of Oxygen!”, everyone takes a deep breath, starts yelling continuously, and runs forward.
The rule is: they can only run while making noise (yelling, humming, or saying “ahhhhhhh”).
The moment they stop making sound, they must freeze where they are — their oxygen has run out!
Winning the Game:
The player who runs the furthest distance in one breath wins the round.
Play several rounds and see if anyone can beat their previous record.
Other Information:
Works best outdoors or in a large hall.
Great warm-up or high-energy game.
Encourage dramatic “space running” and funny astronaut noises for extra fun!
