🧂 Supplies Needed
1 large bucket or plastic tub
6 cups water
1 cup dish soap (Sunlight or Morning Fresh work best)
¼ cup glycerin (optional – makes bubbles stronger)
Measuring jug
Bubble wands (see below)
Old towels or non-slip mats (optional for standing zone)
Aprons or spare shirts (optional – can get soapy!)
🧪 Make the Giant Bubble Mix
Fill the bucket with 6 cups of water.
Gently stir in 1 cup of dish soap.
Add ¼ cup of glycerin (if using).
Stir slowly — avoid making it frothy!
🪄
Make Your Own Giant Bubble Wands
Option 1: Straw & String Wand
Cut two straws and a piece of string (about 1 metre long).
Thread the string through both straws and tie a knot.
Hold one straw in each hand — dip the whole loop into the solution, lift and open arms wide to create a bubble!
Option 2: Pipe Cleaner or Wire Loop
Shape into large loops and dip.
Option 3: Hula Hoop & Pool
Pour bubble mix into a paddling pool or large tray.
Have a child stand inside, then lift a hula hoop up slowly to enclose them in a bubble!
How to Use the Station
Dip your wand fully into the solution.
Slowly pull it up — and either walk backwards or gently blow to form the bubble.
Try different shapes, sizes, and speeds!
Top Tips
Let the mix sit for 30 minutes if possible — it works better when rested.
Try making bubbles in shady or less windy spots for longer-lasting results.
Add a challenge: who can make the longest bubble? Or catch a bubble on their hand?
