Giant Soccer Ball Games

Supplies

  • Giant inflatable soccer ball

  • Cones or markers for goals/boundaries

  • Open space (indoor hall or outdoor field)

  • Bibs or ribbons for team identification (optional)

Steps & Game Ideas

🥅 1. Giant Soccer Match (Modified Rules)

  1. Split children into 2 teams (3–6 per side depending on space).

  2. Set up goals using cones at each end.

  3. Use the giant soccer ball and encourage teamwork to pass, dribble, and score.

  4. No goalies needed, or rotate goalie each round.

  5. Play short rounds (5 mins) with breaks or substitutions.

  6. Keep it fun — no hard tackles or intense competition.

Adaptations:

  • For younger groups, allow players to use hands or gently push the ball.

  • For older kids, use only feet and add rules like “3 passes before a goal.”

🔁 2. Dribble Relay

  1. Set up a cone course or straight line.

  2. Children take turns dribbling the giant ball around the cones and back.

  3. Tag the next person in their team to go.

  4. First team to finish wins!

🎯 3. Goalie Gauntlet

  1. One child is in goal; others take turns trying to kick or push the ball past them.

  2. Everyone gets 2–3 tries, then rotate goalies.

  3. Great for developing kicking accuracy and reaction time.

🚧 4. Giant Obstacle Dribble

  1. Set up a creative course using cones, pool noodles, hula hoops, etc.

  2. Children must guide the ball through the course without it leaving the path.

  3. Can be timed individually or played cooperatively in small teams.
