How to Make Melty Bead Crafts

Supplies Needed:

1. Melty Beads (also known as Perler Beads or Hama Beads)

2. Melty Bead Pegboards

3. Ironing Paper (or parchment paper)

4. An Iron

5. Tweezers (optional, can make placing beads easier)

Instructions:

1. Choose Your Design: Decide on the pattern or shape you want to create. This could be anything from a simple heart to a complex design. You can use pre-made patterns or create your own.

2. Place the Beads: Use the tweezers (or fingers for older kids) to place the beads onto the pegboard following the chosen pattern. Make sure all the beads are aligned properly.

3. Cover with Ironing Paper: Once the design is complete, carefully cover it with a piece of ironing paper.

4. Iron the Beads: Preheat the iron to a medium setting (no steam). Gently move the iron in a circular motion over the ironing paper for about 10-20 seconds, or until the beads have melted together. Always have an adult do this step.

5. Let it Cool: Remove the iron and let the design cool for a few minutes. The beads need to harden before you move them.

6. Remove the Design: Once cooled, gently remove the design from the pegboard. If the beads are not sticking together, repeat the ironing process.

7. Iron the Other Side: Flip the design over and cover it with the ironing paper. Repeat the ironing process on this side.

8. Cool and Display: Allow the design to cool completely. Then it's ready to display or use in other crafts!
