Supplies
4–10 hula hoops (more if available)
Open space (hall, turf, or field)
Optional: cones, music, stopwatches, beanbags
1. Hula Hoop Pass
Players: 6+How to Play:
Everyone holds hands in a circle with one hoop hanging over two joined hands.
Without letting go, the group must pass the hoop around the circle by wriggling through it.
Time it or race other teams!
2. Hula Hoop Tag
Players: 4+How to Play:
One or two taggers try to tag others.
If a player is inside a hula hoop on the ground, they are safe – but only for 5 seconds!
Move hoops every few minutes to keep it challenging.
3. Hoop Toss
Players: 2+How to Play:
Set up cones or buckets as targets.
Players take turns tossing hoops over the targets.
Score points for each successful ring.
4. Hoop Obstacle Course
Players: AnyHow to Play:
Lay hoops in a line or zigzag for jumping.
Add tasks like “spin 3 times,” “crawl through,” or “balance inside for 10 seconds.”
Great for circuits or timed challenges.
5. Spin Challenges
Players: Solo or groupHow to Play:
See who can spin the hoop the longest on their waist, arm, or leg.
Add music and do dance moves while hooping for extra fun!
Other Information
Great for both high-energy and calming activities.
Encourages coordination, teamwork, balance, and rhythm.
Easy to adapt for all ages and group sizes.
