Jungle puppets



Supplies

  • Coloured paper or card (brown, yellow, orange, blue, white, black, pink, etc.)

  • Scissors

  • Glue stick or PVA glue

  • Craft sticks (popsicle sticks or ice block sticks)

  • Black marker

  • Pencil for tracing

  • Optional: Googly eyes or stickers

  • Pick your animalChoose from jungle favourites like:

    • 🐵 Monkey

    • 🦁 Lion

    • 🦓 Zebra

    • 🐘 Elephant

  • Cut out the shapesFor each animal, cut simple pieces from coloured paper:

    • Monkey – brown circle for the head, beige oval for the face, small ears

    • Lion – yellow face, orange zigzag circle for the mane, small ears

    • Zebra – white face, black stripes, nose, and ears

    • Elephant – blue head, large floppy ears, trunk

  • Glue it together

    • Stick the pieces onto each other to form your animal's head.

    • Use a black marker to draw eyes, nose, mouth, or other details.

    • Optional: Stick on googly eyes or use a pink circle for cheeks.

  • Attach to the stick

    • Flip the finished head over and glue or tape a craft stick to the back.

  • Let it dry (if using PVA glue) and then you're ready to play!

💡 Other Information

  • Encourage kids to name their animals and make up a story or puppet show.

  • You can pre-cut pieces for younger kids or let older ones design their own.
