Love Heart Polymer Clay Tokens (“Mum”)

Supplies

• Polymer clay (pink, red, white, or any colour of choice)

• Rolling pins or smooth bottles

• Heart-shaped cookie cutters (small to medium)

• Alphabet stamps or a toothpick (to write “Mum”)

• Baking tray and baking paper

• Oven (adult use only)

• Optional: keyring loops, ribbon, or magnets

• Optional: clear varnish for shine

  
  

Steps

1. Give each child a small ball of polymer clay to soften in their hands.

2. Roll it out to about 5mm thick using a rolling pin or bottle.

3. Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut out the token.

4. Gently press “Mum” into the centre using alphabet stamps or carve it carefully with a toothpick.

5. Optional: Add texture with gentle patterns (dots, swirls, or lines using blunt tools).

6. Place hearts on a lined baking tray.

7. Bake according to the polymer clay instructions (usually 110–130°C for 10–30 mins depending on size and brand). Adult supervision required!

8. Let cool completely. Optional: add a coat of clear varnish to seal and shine.

9. Add a ribbon, magnet, or keyring loop if desired.
