Give tamariki a chance to perform simple tricks, build confidence, and entertain their peers in a magical way.
🪄 Supplies Needed:

Small table or mat for performers
Optional: capes, cloaks, hats, or costume accessories
A space for an “audience” to sit
Microphone (toy or real) or staff MC

🧙‍♂️ Steps:
Prep the Performers
Give children time to learn and practise a simple magic trick (see examples below).
Provide step-by-step guides or demonstration videos if needed.
Pair younger children with older helpers or staff to practise.
Set the Stage
Choose a time for the show (e.g. Friday afternoon).
Set up a “stage” area with a table and backdrop.
Arrange seating for the audience.
Host the Show
Appoint a staff MCÂ or confident child to welcome everyone and introduce each performer.
Performers come up one by one, say their magician name (e.g. “The Amazing Alex”), and perform their trick.
Applause and Encouragement
After each performance, encourage the audience to clap or cheer.
Staff can give out “awards” like:
Best Disappearing Act
Most Mysterious Trick
Funniest Magician
Crowd Favourite
Wrap It Up
Thank all performers.
Optionally, allow a few staff to do funny tricks or silly fails for a laugh!
