Minute to win it



These minute-long challenges will put your skills to the test as you race against the clock to complete various tasks. Gather the supplies, follow the instructions, and let the games begin!


Supplies Needed:

- Timer or stopwatch

- Household items (listed for each challenge)

- Optional: Prize for the winner(s)


How to Play:

1. Set up a designated playing area where participants can complete the challenges.

2. Gather all the supplies needed for the specific challenges.

3. Explain the rules of the competition: Each challenge must be completed within one minute. The participant who successfully completes the task or achieves the highest score wins that particular challenge.

4. Use a timer or stopwatch to keep track of the one-minute time limit for each challenge.

5. Assign a scorekeeper to record the results of each participant's performance.


Remember, the key to Minute to Win It games is to keep the challenges fast-paced, exciting, and achievable within a minute. Feel free to modify the challenges or add your own unique twists to match the age group and preferences of the participants. Get ready for some thrilling competition and lots of fun memories!


Below are 20 game ideas, but if you do not have the supplies or want different games, there are loads of examples online, google or look them up on YouTube or for extra fun let the children come up with some of their own challenges. The games are endless.


Challenge 1: Stack Attack

Supplies needed: 36 plastic cups

Objective: Stack and unstack the cups into a pyramid shape using only one hand.


Challenge 2: Face the Cookie

Supplies needed: Cookies (such as Oreos) and forehead

Objective: Move a cookie from the forehead to the mouth using only facial muscles.


Challenge 3: Junk in the Trunk

Supplies needed: Empty tissue box, belt, ping pong balls

Objective: Attach the tissue box filled with ping pong balls to the backside and shake out all the balls within one minute.


Challenge 4: Movin' On Up

Supplies needed: 39 plastic cups

Objective: Stack the cups in a single line and then move them back into a single stack in under a minute.


Challenge 5: This Blows

Supplies needed: Balloons and lightweight plastic cups

Objective: Inflate balloons and use the air to knock over as many cups as possible within one minute.


Challenge 6: Ping Pong Madness

Supplies needed: Ping pong balls, plastic spoons, and cups

Objective: Bounce ping pong balls off the ground and catch them in cups held by the mouth.


Challenge 7: Stack 'Em Up

Supplies needed: Plastic cups and index cards

Objective: Stack cups and separate them using only index cards.


Challenge 8: Marshmallow Madness

Supplies needed: Marshmallows and straws

Objective: Use the straw to suck up marshmallows and transfer them from one plate to another within one minute.


Challenge 9: Chopstick Challenge

Supplies needed: Chopsticks and small objects (e.g., cotton balls, mini marshmallows)

Objective: Use chopsticks to transfer as many objects as possible from one bowl to another within the time limit.


Challenge 10: Bottle Flip

Supplies needed: Plastic water bottles

Objective: Successfully flip and land a water bottle upright within the given time.


Challenge 11: Cotton Ball Scoop

Supplies needed: Cotton balls, spoons, and bowls

Objective: Scoop cotton balls using a spoon and transfer them from one bowl to another within one minute.


Challenge 12: Nutstacker

Supplies needed: Peanuts or small candies and a toothpick

Objective: Stack as many peanuts or candies as possible using only a toothpick within the time limit.


Challenge 13: Cup Pyramid

Supplies needed: Plastic cups

Objective: Create a pyramid structure using cups and then dismantle it back into a single stack within one minute.


Challenge 14: Coin Tower

Supplies needed: Coins/ similar

Objective: Stack as many coins as possible to create a tower within one minute without it toppling over.


Challenge 15: Straw and Paper Blow

Supplies needed: Straws and small paper pieces

Objective: Use the straw to blow small paper pieces off a table or into a designated area within the time limit.


Challenge 16: Cereal Box Shake

Supplies needed: Empty cereal box and small objects (such as small toys or candies)

Objective: Shake and maneuver the cereal box to get all the objects out within one minute.


Challenge 17: Nutty Nose Dive

Supplies needed: Nuts (such as peanuts) and petroleum jelly

Objective: Dip the tip of the nose in petroleum jelly and try to stick as many nuts to it as possible within the given time.


Challenge 18: Cup Stacking Relay

Supplies needed: Plastic cups

Objective: Stack and unstack a pyramid of cups relay-style, passing the cups to the next player to continue building within one minute.


Challenge 19: Ping Pong Bounce

Supplies needed: Ping pong balls and a clipboard

Objective: Bounce ping pong balls off the clipboard and into a cup within the time limit.


Challenge 20: Straw and Pom Pom Race

Supplies needed: Straws, pom poms, and masking tape

Objective: Use the straw to blow pom poms across a designated area, racing against another participant to reach the finish line first.
