No-Sand "Kinetic Sand"

Supplies:

• 2 cups cornflour (aka corn starch)

• ½ cup baby oil (or cooking oil like canola or sunflower)

• Optional: food colouring or powdered paint

Instructions:

1. Mix the Base:

   • Add 2 cups of cornflour to a large bowl.

2. Add Colour (Optional):

   • If using food colouring, mix a few drops into the oil first before combining with the cornflour. Powdered paint can be mixed straight into the cornflour.

3. Add Oil:

   • Slowly pour in ½ cup of oil while mixing with a spoon or your hands.

4. Mix Thoroughly:

   • Keep mixing until the texture feels like damp sand – it should hold its shape when squeezed, but crumble apart easily.

   • Too dry? Add a little more oil.
