Supplies
Cones, chalk, or tape to create a maze/grid (optional but recommended)
Bibs or coloured bands to identify taggers (ghosts)
Space large enough for movement (hall, court, field)
Set-Up
Mark out a grid or maze with lines that players must stay on (like paths in Pac-Man). Chalk for outdoor concrete, tape for gym floors, or cones for grass work well.
Choose 1–4 taggers (depending on group size) – they are the ghosts.
The rest of the players are Pac-Men.
Rules
Stay on the lines! All players (including ghosts) must move only along the marked paths – no jumping off or cutting corners.
Ghosts tag Pac-Men by touching them while staying on the lines.
Once tagged, a Pac-Man is frozen (or goes to a “ghost jail” depending on your version).
Optional: Add a power-up zone where Pac-Men can “unfreeze” others by tagging them.
Variations
⏱️ Timed Rounds: Change ghosts every 2–3 minutes.
🔄 Reverse Roles: Once tagged, kids become the new ghosts.
🟡 Power Pellets: Place beanbags or discs around the grid – when collected, Pac-Men are safe for 10 seconds.
Other Information
Works well with groups of 6–20 kids.
Teaches spatial awareness, strategy, and fair play.
Great as a warm-up or circuit game.
