Supplies
Paper plates (1 per child)
Green paint (or green colouring pencils/markers)
Paintbrushes
Scissors
Glue
Red pom poms, sequins, stickers, or cut-out “berries”
Ribbon or string for hanging
Optional: glitter, foam shapes, Christmas stickers, patterned paper scraps
Steps
Prepare the wreath base
Give each child a paper plate.
Have them cut out the centre so only the outer ring remains — this becomes the wreath shape.
Paint the wreath
Children paint the entire ring green.
Set aside to dry for a few minutes (or use markers if you need a faster option).
Decorate
Once dry, children glue on red pom poms to look like holly berries.
Add sequins, glitter, Christmas stickers, or anything festive you have available.
Add a bow
Tie a small bow using ribbon and glue it to the bottom or top of the wreath.
Attach the hanger
Tape or glue a loop of ribbon or string to the back so it can be hung up.
Optional: Add a name tag
Kids can write their names or a Christmas message on a small piece of card and glue it onto the wreath.
