  • Paper plates (1 per child)

  • Green paint or markers

  • Green card or paper (for legs, head, and tail)

  • Scissors

  • Glue stick or PVA glue

  • Googly eyes (optional) or black marker

  • Paintbrushes

  • Paint the back of the plate

    • Turn the plate upside down and paint the back green (or add patterns with different greens/yellows).

    • Let it dry while you prep the other parts.

  • Cut out turtle body parts

    • From green paper or card, cut:

      • 4 legs – oval or paddle shapes

      • 1 head – rounded on one end

      • 1 small triangle for the tail

  • Stick the parts to the plate

  • Once the plate is dry, flip it upside down (painted side up).

  • Glue the legs to the sides, the head to the front, and the tail at the back – all underneath the plate rim.

  • Add the eyes and face

    • Glue on googly eyes to the head, or draw them with marker.

    • Add a smile, nostrils, or even a little tongue if you like!
