Patagonia Penguin Waddle

Supplies

  • Beanbags, soft balls, or small cushions (one per child)

  • Cones or markers to set up a start and finish line

  • Open space (hall or playground)

Steps

  1. Give each child a beanbag or small ball to place between their knees.

  2. Line all children up at the starting line.

  3. On “Go!”, children must waddle like penguins toward the finish line, keeping the beanbag/ball held between their knees.

  4. If the beanbag/ball drops, the child must stop, pick it up, and continue.

  5. The first penguin to cross the finish line wins.

  6. Optional variations:

    • Run as a relay race in teams.

    • Add obstacles (e.g., cones to waddle around).
