Pipe Cleaner & Straw Ninjas

Supplies Needed

• Pipe cleaners (black, red, or other colours)

• Drinking straws (cut into small pieces, about 1–2 cm long)

• Googly eyes (optional)

• Glue (optional, for attaching eyes)

• Scissors

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 – Create the Ninja Body

1. Take one pipe cleaner and fold it in half to find the middle.

2. Twist the middle around a pencil to form a small loop = the ninja’s head.

Step 2 – Add the Straw Armour

1. Cut straws into small pieces (1–2 cm).

2. Slide straw pieces onto the pipe cleaner arms and legs as “armour.”

3. Bend ends of pipe cleaners to stop straws sliding off.

Step 3 – Shape the Ninja

1. Twist the pipe cleaners into a stick-figure shape (head, arms, torso, and legs).

2. Use extra pipe cleaners for belts, headbands, or weapons (like nunchucks or swords).

Step 4 – Add Eyes (Optional)

1. Glue on tiny googly eyes to the head loop.

2. If no googly eyes, draw eyes on a small white paper strip and wrap it around the head.

Step 5 – Pose Your Ninja

• Bend arms and legs into action poses (kicks, flips, fighting stances).

• Display them standing, leaning, or battling each other!

✅ Tips:

• Use different coloured pipe cleaners for different ninja teams.

• Wrap black pipe cleaners around the head for a ninja mask effect.
