Instructions
Below are 4x games to play as part of the colour run. Please ensure the following
1) All children must wear safety goggles at all times in all games
2) Please ensure you use the field areas of the school to prevent staining any courts or buildings
3) Ensure children do not entre into the buildings when wet and covered in colour as it will stain any walls they may touch

1) Traditional Colour Run
Setup:
Create a running “shoot” or track (cones, ropes, or chalk lines to mark lanes).
Position staff with colour powder and water guns filled with coloured water (food colouring mixed with water).
How to Play:
Kids run through the shoot in small groups.
As they pass, staff gently throw colour powder into the air and spray water guns to cover them in colour.
Encourage cheering and music to add excitement.
Safety Tips:
Avoid aiming at the face; throw powder at body/legs.
Use non-toxic, washable powders and food colouring.
Provide goggles or sunglasses for kids who want extra protection.
2) Colour Sock Battle
Setup:
Fill clean socks with colour powder (tie the ends securely).
Split kids into teams, each assigned a colour.
Mark a safe play area with boundaries.
How to Play:
Each team tries to tag the other team by gently throwing their colour sock bags.
When a player is hit, they’re “branded” with that colour and continue playing.
Play for a set time (e.g. 5 minutes). The team that spreads their colour the most wins.
Safety Tips:
Make sure throws are gentle.
Only aim for body and clothing, not heads or faces.
3) Colour Water Balloon Toss
Setup:
Fill balloons with water + a few drops of food colouring.
Divide kids into pairs, lined up facing each other about 1 metre apart.
How to Play:
Partners toss a balloon back and forth.
After each round, step back one more metre.
If the balloon bursts, that team is out.
Last pair with an unbroken balloon wins!
Variation:
Have a big finale where everyone gets to throw balloons at once in a giant colour splash.
4) Colour Run Relay
Setup:
Divide kids into teams of 4–6.
Set up a relay track with cones (about 20–30 metres).
Position colour powder stations along the track.
How to Play:
First runner sprints to the cone and back while staff toss colour powder.
Tag the next runner, who repeats the loop.
Continue until all team members have run.
First team finished = winners!
Optional Twist:
Add water guns or balloons at checkpoints.
The winning team could get a final giant colour shower from the staff.
