Supplies:
Fabric strips, ribbons, or old socks (1 per child) – these are the Pokémon tails
Open space like a gym, field, or hall
Optional: music to play during the game
Setup:
Each child tucks a “tail” (fabric strip or ribbon) into the back of their waistband so it hangs out like a tail.
Everyone spreads out in the play area.
Set clear boundaries where the game will be played.
How to Play:
On "GO!", players run around trying to grab other players’ tails while protecting their own.
If your tail is pulled, you must:
Freeze for 5 seconds before rejoining with a new tail (staff can hand them out), or
Go to a designated “respawn zone” to get a new tail before returning.
The goal is to collect as many tails as possible without losing your own.
Play for a set time or until only one child has a tail left!
Variations:
Element Type Teams: Play in teams (Fire, Water, Grass) and only tag other types (e.g., Fire can tag Grass).
Legendary Round: Staff can join as “Legendary Pokémon” with double tails—harder to catch!
No Respawn: Once your tail is pulled, you’re out until the next round.
