Rainbow sky sensory bottles

Materials:

  • Clear plastic bottles with tight-fitting lids

  • Water

  • Clear hair gel or clear dish soap

  • Food coloring (in rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)

  • Glitter or sequins (optional)

  • Super glue or hot glue gun (optional, for securing the lids)

Instructions:

  1. Take the clear plastic bottles and remove any labels or stickers. Make sure the bottles are clean and dry.

  2. Fill each bottle about 1/3 full with water. You can use a funnel to make it easier to pour.

  3. Add a generous amount of clear hair gel or clear dish soap to each bottle, filling it about 2/3 full. The gel or soap will create the cloudy sky effect.

  4. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bottle, one color at a time, in rainbow order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. Use as many drops as desired to achieve the desired color intensity.

  5. If desired, add a sprinkle of glitter or sequins to each bottle for extra sparkle and visual interest.

  6. Secure the lids tightly on the bottles. You can use super glue or a hot glue gun to seal the lids if you want to prevent any spills or leaks.

  7. Gently shake or tilt the bottles to mix the colors and create the rainbow effect.

  8. Your rainbow sky sensory bottles are now ready to be explored! Encourage children to turn the bottles and watch the colors mix and swirl.

Note: It's important to supervise young children while playing with sensory bottles to ensure they are playing safely and not attempting to open the bottles.
