Supplies:
Plastic plates or paper crowns (to balance on heads)
Beanbags, balls, or "treasure" items
Cones, chairs, or hoops to mark a course
Optional: pool noodles or capes for extra royal flair
Setup:
Create a race course using cones, hula hoops, ropes, or chalk lines.
Divide the children into teams of 3–6.
Each team lines up behind a starting point.
How to Play:
The first player balances a “crown” (e.g. a plastic plate or cut-out paper crown) on their head.
They carry a “treasure” (like a beanbag) through the course — walking, hopping, or tiptoeing!
If the crown falls off, they must stop, reset it on their head, and continue.
Once they reach the end, they hand off the crown and treasure to the next teammate.
Repeat until every team member has completed the course.
Variation Ideas:
Add obstacles like a moat (hula hoop to jump through) or a dragon to dodge (staff member waving a pool noodle).
Try different movements each round: walking backwards, skipping, crab-walking.
Use royal music and have a “knight” or “queen” announce each round.
Winning:
The first team to finish with all treasures and crowns intact wins! But really… everyone gets royal cheers for effort, teamwork, and fun!
