Supplies
A speaker/music player
Samba or Carnival-style music (upbeat, rhythmic, festive)
Open space (hall or playground)
Steps
Gather the children in an open space where they can move safely.
Explain the rules:
When the music plays, children dance freely to the samba beat.
When the music stops, everyone must freeze in place — ideally in a fun “Carnival pose.”
Anyone who moves while the music is off does a silly action (like a samba spin) before rejoining.
Start the music and let the kids dance. Stop and start the music at random intervals.
Continue for several rounds, encouraging children to show creative poses and big, colourful dance moves.
Finish with one big “all-together” samba dance at the end.
