If playing in teams:
Supplies Needed:
1. Pen and paper
2. stopwatch or times
Instructions:
1. Choose a Category: Start by choosing a category. This could be anything from animals to food to countries.
The team needs to write down something from that category starting with the letter in the alphabet.
Time how fast each time completes the task to determine the winner.
If playing individuals:
Supplies Needed:
1. Pen and paper (optional, for keeping score)
Instructions:
1. Choose a Category: Start by choosing a category. This could be anything from animals to food to countries.
2. Start with A: The first player must name something from the chosen category that starts with the letter "A".
3. Continue Through the Alphabet: The next player must name something from the category that starts with the letter "B", and so on. Players continue through the alphabet.
4. No Repeats: A word can't be repeated. If a player repeats a word that has already been used, they are out for the round.
5. Last Player Standing: The last player left, or the first one to get to "Z", wins the round.
6. Keep Score: If you want to play multiple rounds, keep score on a piece of paper. Each round won can be worth one point, and the player with the most points after a certain number of rounds is the overall winner.
This game is a great way to improve vocabulary and knowledge in various subjects, and can be adapted to suit different age levels by choosing more or less challenging categories. Always remember to keep the game fun and educational!
