Supplies:
Aluminium foil (regular kitchen foil is perfect)
Optional: Pipe cleaners (for extra structure or decoration)
Optional: Permanent markers (for adding colour)
Optional: Googly eyes, small pom poms, or felt scraps
Scissors (for cutting foil if needed)
A4 paper or cardboard for display/base
Steps:
Tear or cut a sheet of foil – around 30–40cm long is a good starting size. Kids can use more as needed.
Crumple and shape the foil – Start by loosely crumpling the foil, then gently mould it into a shape. Try:
A person
An animal (e.g. dog, elephant, bird)
A robot
A fantasy creature
A crown or sculpture of their initials
Add detail – Twist to create arms, legs, tails, or wings. Fold small parts for ears, feet, etc.
Decorate (optional) – Wrap parts with pipe cleaners, draw on the foil with permanent markers, or glue on googly eyes and felt accessories.
Mount or display – Place the sculpture on a piece of paper or cardboard for easy display. Kids can even name their creation and write a short description on the base.
Other Information:
This is a great open-ended creative activity that encourages imagination and problem solving.
No glue or drying time required, so it's mess-free and great for all ages.
Works well as a quiet-time or wind-down craft at the end of a busy day.
