Yarn Wall Hanging Craft
Supplies:
1 wooden dowel (approx. 30cm–40cm long)
Yarn in chosen colours
Scissors
String or extra yarn for hanging
Ruler (optional)
Steps:
Cut the Yarn:Cut lengths of yarn about 60–70cm long (they will be folded in half, so finished length will be around 30–35cm).Cut enough strands to cover the dowel.
Fold and Loop:Take one strand, fold it in half.Place the folded end (the loop) behind the dowel.Bring the two loose ends over the dowel and through the loop.Pull gently to tighten. This is called a lark’s head knot.
Repeat Across:Continue looping strands along the dowel until it's full or the pattern is complete. You can alternate colours, group them in blocks, or create a rainbow or ombre effect.
Trim the Bottom (Optional):Once all strands are attached, you can leave the bottom edge uneven, trim it straight, or cut into a V or diagonal pattern.
Attach the Hanger:Cut a piece of string or yarn about 50–60cm long.Tie each end to either side of the dowel to create a hanger.
Display:Hang your finished piece on a wall hook, nail, or command strip.
