Supplies:
Black or coloured A3 card (or construction paper)
Scissors
Tape or stapler
Glue
Star and moon cut-outs (use yellow/gold paper or foil)
Glitter, stickers, markers, or paint pens
Ribbon or string (optional for chin strap)
Compass or round object to trace a large circle (e.g., large bowl)
Steps:
Make the Cone ShapeCut the A3 card into a quarter circle (like a big slice of pizza). Roll it into a cone that fits your head and tape or staple it in place.
Create the Hat Brim Trace and cut a large circle from another piece of card. Cut a smaller circle in the centre (head-sized). Slip the cone into this to form the brim and secure with tape or glue from underneath.
Decorate Your HatAdd magical symbols like stars, moons, and sparkles using cut-outs, glitter, or stickers. Let kids get creative with patterns!
Add Chin Straps (Optional) Punch holes on each side and tie on string or ribbon to help it stay on their head.
Let It Dry If using glue or paint, set aside to dry fully before wearing.

Tip: You can also use coloured card and make rainbow, sparkly, or “dark magic” themed hats.
