Wooden Decoration Decorating

Supplies

• Pre-cut wooden decorations

• Paint (acrylic or washable paint)

• Paint brushes

• Water cups for rinsing brushes

• Paper towels / wipes

• Aprons or old shirts

• Glue (PVA or craft glue)

• Decorations: glitter, sequins, pom-poms, gems, stickers, string or ribbon

• Trays or placemats for each child

Steps

1. Prepare the DecorationGive each child a pre-cut wooden decoration and place it on a tray or placemat.

2. Paint the BaseUse paint to colour in the wooden decoration.Encourage children to use thin layers of paint.

3. Let It DryPlace the decoration on a drying tray or table until the paint is dry to the touch.

4. DecorateOnce dry, add extra decorations using glue – glitter, gems, pom-poms, stickers, or ribbon.

5. Final DryingLeave the decoration to dry completely before moving or hanging.

6. Display or Take HomeFinished decorations can be hung, displayed, or taken home.
