Baking Brownies


Chocolate Brownies

Soft, chewy, and full of rich chocolate flavour – a classic Kiwi favourite!

Supplies & Ingredients

  • 250g butter, melted

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  • 2 cups Chelsea White Sugar

  • ½ cup cocoa powder

  • 1½ cups Edmonds Standard Grade Flour

  • 1 tsp Edmonds Baking Powder

  • 4 eggs

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C bake (160°C fan). Line a 20x30cm slice tin with baking paper.

  2. Melt the butter in a large bowl. Add vanilla and sugar, and mix well.

  3. Add cocoa and stir until smooth.

  4. Sift in flour and baking powder, then stir to combine.

  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.

  6. Pour into tin and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. Cool in tin, then cut into squares.
