Chocolate Fudge Slice


Supplies (Ingredients):

Base:

  • 1 cup standard flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¾ cup Chelsea White Sugar

  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 ½ cups desiccated coconut

  • 125g butter, melted

  • 1 tsp vanilla essence


Icing:

  • 1 ½ cups Chelsea Icing Sugar

  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 25g butter, melted

  • 1–2 Tbsp hot water


Steps:

1. Preheat OvenPreheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan bake). Line a slice tin (approx. 20x30cm) with baking paper.

2. Mix Dry IngredientsIn a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa, and coconut.

3. Add Wet IngredientsPour in the melted butter and vanilla essence. Mix well until combined.

4. Press into TinPress the mixture firmly into your prepared slice tin.

5. BakeBake for 15–20 minutes or until lightly firm to touch. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

6. Prepare IcingIn a small bowl, sift together the icing sugar and cocoa. Add melted butter and hot water. Mix until smooth and spreadable.

7. Ice the SliceSpread the icing over the slightly warm base for easy spreading.

8. Let Set & CutAllow to cool completely, then slice into squares or rectangles.


Other Information:

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

  • Great for freezing – slice before freezing for easy lunchbox treats.

  • Optional: Add a sprinkle of coconut or hundreds & thousands on top of the icing before it sets!
