Supplies:
Cardboard or thick paper (fish shapes pre-cut or drawn by children)
Aluminium foil (enough to wrap each fish)
Glue sticks or PVA glue
Blunt pencils or cotton buds (for etching designs)
Colouring markers or permanent markers
Scissors
Steps:
Give each child a cardboard fish shape (or have them draw and cut out their own).
Cover the fish completely with aluminium foil, folding or gluing the edges at the back.
Using a blunt pencil or cotton bud, carefully press patterns and textures into the foil (e.g. scales, fins, bubbles).
Once the design is etched, use colouring markers to add colour over the foil — the etched parts will show through beautifully!
Optionally, mount the finished fish onto blue paper to create an “ocean wall” display.
