Supplies:
6 cups Rice Bubbles cereal
250g marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
Green food colouring
Mini marshmallows (for Frankenstein’s “bolts”)
Edible candy eyes (or white icing dots)
Black icing pen or melted dark chocolate (for hair and mouth)
Lollipop sticks or straws
Baking tray
Baking paper
Mixing bowl and spoon
Steps:
Melt the Marshmallows
In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth and melted.
Add a few drops of green food colouring and mix well until the colour is even.
Add the Rice Bubbles
Remove the pot from the heat.
Add the Rice Bubbles and stir until they’re fully coated in the green marshmallow mix.
Shape Frankenstein’s Heads
Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Scoop the mixture onto the tray and press it down firmly with a spoon (or slightly damp hands).
Once it cools a little, cut into small rectangles — these will be Frankenstein’s heads.
Insert a lollipop stick or straw into the bottom of each piece.
Decorate Frankenstein
Use a black icing pen or melted dark chocolate to draw hair and a mouth.
Stick on candy eyes (or use white icing dots for eyes).
Cut mini marshmallows in half and stick one on each side of the head to look like bolts.
Set and Serve
Let them cool completely until firm.
Store in an airtight container until it’s party time!
