Hokey Pokey

Supplies/Ingredients:

  • 5 Tbsp sugar

  • 2 Tbsp golden syrup

  • 1 tsp baking soda

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Tray

    • Grease a small baking tray or line with baking paper.

  2. Melt Sugar & Syrup

    • In a saucepan, add sugar and golden syrup.

    • Heat gently, stirring all the time, until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Boil the Mixture

    • Once dissolved, stop stirring.

    • Let it boil for about 2 minutes until golden in colour.

  4. Add the Magic

    • Remove from heat. Quickly add baking soda and stir — the mixture will foam up.

  5. Set the Hokey Pokey

    • Immediately pour into the prepared tray.

    • Leave to cool and harden.

  6. Break Into Pieces

    • Once cool, crack into chunks and enjoy!
