Lemonade scones

Supplies/Ingredients:

  • 4 cups self-raising flour

  • 300 ml (1 can) lemonade (not diet)

  • 300 ml cream (plus extra for brushing tops)

  • Pinch of salt

Steps:

  1. Preheat Oven

    • Heat oven to 220°C (fan bake 200°C). Line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Mix Ingredients

    • In a large bowl, add flour and salt.

    • Pour in lemonade and cream.

    • Stir gently with a butter knife until just combined (don’t overmix).

  3. Shape Dough

    • Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.

    • Gently press into a rectangle about 2 cm thick.

  4. Cut Scones

    • Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out scones.

    • Place them close together on the baking tray.

  5. Glaze

    • Brush the tops with a little extra cream.

  6. Bake

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes until risen and golden brown.

  7. Serve

    • Enjoy warm with butter, jam, and cream!
