Supplies:
None required (just happy faces!)
Optional: music for a variation version
Steps:
Have all children sit in a circle facing each other.
Choose one person to start as “The Smiler.”
The Smiler begins by smiling as widely or as sillily as they can at the person next to them.
That person must try not to smile or laugh — if they do, they become the new Smiler!
If they manage to keep a straight face for 5 seconds, the smile passes to the next person in the circle.
Continue around the circle, with the goal of keeping the smile moving without everyone bursting into giggles.
Optional variation: Play music in the background — when it stops, the person holding the smile is out!
Other Information:
Best played in small–medium groups (8–15 children).
Great as a warm-up, filler, or mood-lifter.
Works well for mixed ages — laughter is guaranteed!
Encourage creative smiles: silly grins, eyebrow wiggles, or even silent giggles.
