Rainbow Macramé

Supplies:

  • Thick cotton rope (cut into 3–5 short lengths for rainbow arches)

  • Assorted coloured yarn or embroidery thread

  • Scissors

  • Hot glue or craft glue (for attaching ends)

  • Needle (optional for threading yarn through)

Steps:

  1. Cut the Rope

    • Cut 3–5 pieces of thick rope in slightly different lengths, each one a little shorter than the last (these will form your rainbow arches).

  2. Choose Your Colours

    • Pick different coloured yarns for each rainbow arch. Bright rainbow colours work great, but you can also use pastel tones or any theme you like.

  3. Wrap the Rope

    • Starting at one end of a rope piece, tightly wrap your chosen yarn around the rope until it’s fully covered.

    • Use a small dab of glue to secure the ends.

    • Repeat for each rope piece with a different colour.

  4. Assemble the Rainbow

    • Arrange the wrapped rope pieces in an arch shape, from longest to shortest.

    • Glue or stitch them together at the edges to hold the rainbow shape.

  5. Finish the Ends

    • Unravel the loose rope ends to create a fringe effect at the bottom of each arch.

  6. Display

    • Your rainbow macramé can be hung on the wall, added to a keyring, or used as decoration.
