Soft and chewy M&M cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups M&M's (plus extra for topping, if desired)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  6. Gently fold in the M&M's, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  7. Using a cookie scoop or a spoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  8. If desired, press a few extra M&M's onto the tops of the cookie dough balls for decoration.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  10. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes. Then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

  11. Enjoy your soft and chewy M&M cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
