Fear Factor


Morning Briefing / Welcome

  • Explain the rules:

    • No one is forced to do a challenge

    • You can swap or skip any challenge

    • Cheering is encouraged, teasing is not

  • Introduce the idea of “brave points” (trying = winning!)


FEAR FACTOR CHALLENGE STATIONS

Children rotate individually or in small groups. Each completed challenge earns a stamp, sticker, or tick on a challenge card.


Challenge 1: Mystery Taste Test

What: Blindfolded taste test Foods (kid-safe ideas but you can use other items from onsite):

  • Jelly

  • Marshmallow

  • Chocolate spread on cracker

  • Apple slice

  • Rice crackerTwist: They guess what it isFear factor: “Trying the unknown”


Challenge 2: Mystery Touch Box

What: Hands into a box without looking

Inside ideas (but feel free to improvise) :

  • Cooked spaghetti (worms!)

  • Rice

  • Jelly

  • Cotton balls

  • Ice cubes


Challenge 3: Blindfold Obstacle

What: Simple obstacle course with a guide

Includes:

  • Step over pool noodles

  • Crawl under chairs

  • Walk along taped line

  • Rule: One staff member verbally guides each child


Challenge 4: Balloon Pop Bravery

What: Pop a balloon in one of the following ways:

  • Sit on it

  • Step on it

  • Hug pop


Challenge 6: Fear Factor Physical Challenge

Choose one:

  • Hold plank for 20 seconds

  • Wall sit

  • Crab walk to cone and back


CALM / CREATIVE ZONE

Design Your Fear Factor Card

  • Kids create a “contestant card”

  • Add:

    • Name

    • Team

    • Favourite challenge

    • Bravest moment of the day

Great for kids who need a break from high energy.


FINISH LINE CELEBRATION

Fear Factor Ceremony

  • Everyone gets a title:

    • “Bravest Bite”

    • “Fearless Feet”

    • “Mystery Master”

  • Group cheer

  • Optional music + silly poses


STAFF NOTES

  • Keep tone playful, never scary

  • Model bravery (staff try challenges too!)

  • Praise effort over completion

  • Always offer an alternative
